While wildfires and windstorms are a natural part of ecosystem functioning, they are also a major global environmental and socio-economic threat, particularly in the context of climate change, and
are devastating to local communities.
The aim of RENFORCE is to identify, test and promote innovative approaches, techniques, and tools to streamline prevention measures to preparedness and response capacity actions, and to integrate large fires and wind risk management into forest planning. In addition, it aims at an improved integration between relevant actors and policies with a broad social participation.
