Our story

RENFORCE is powered by a diverse partnership across the Mediterranean, bringing together expertise to tackle the objectives from different point of view, taking into account different needs and aspects: science, policymaking, technical body, stakeholders’ involvement.

The eight partners integrate each other’s approach and expertise on process and decision making, while the scientific research centres provide technical expertise, tools and capacity to run testing activities.

• Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (Spain) – Expert in forest bioeconomy and multifunctional forest management.
• University of Corsica (France) – Provides scientific analysis of forest vulnerability with a multidisciplinary lens.
• Municipality of Niksic (Montenegro) – Drives citizen engagement and disaster preparedness at the local level.
• Region of Thessaly (Greece) – Leads knowledge dissemination and institutional capacity building.
• International Association for Mediterranean Forests (France) – Brings extensive experience in nature-based solutions and policy networking.
• BSC Kranj (Slovenia) – Focuses on smart forest governance and biodiversity protection in protected areas.
