What we achieve

RENFORCE partners work together towards a joint strategy for natural hazard prevention, an innovative solution to manage abiotic threats in forests, and a participatory prevention plan.

These tools are designed to boost preparedness, enhance cross-border cooperation, and support public authorities, researchers, and citizens in making informed decisions. The project will empower stakeholders to integrate climate resilience into forest planning and management across the Mediterranean.

A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH

RENFORCE connects science, policy, and people to protect forests from climate-related risks. Activities include mapping best practices, running pilot tests on sustainable forest interventions, developing digital tools for risk monitoring, and creating participatory models for governance.

The project supports capacity building, raises public awareness, and fosters transnational dialogue, ensuring not only a crisis preparedness plan and cooperation at international Mediterranean level, but also a mitigation of such risks, and a positive effect on adaptive capacities and resilience.
